In 1996 a chance meeting with a TV producer at a barbecue lead to my first TV appearance, a two part documentary for the BBC made about my preparation for a show at Olympia. This lead to my hosting the National Televison Award winning game show Bargain Hunt for BBC. ( it's prime time editions bagged 7.5 million viewers on BBC1 )
My television career is now well established and is still thriving. Since 2006 I present the weekday show ‘Dickinson’s Real Deal’ on ITV, now in it's tenth series and which has also enjoyed a stint on prime time. I am asked to appear on many panel and game shows and even hosted my own afternoon chat show for ITV in 2010, ‘The David Dickinson Show’ .
It was a great honour to be the subject of 'This is Your Life' and the iconic chat show' Parkinson', my story was told in Series 3 of 'Who Do You Think You Are? ' And over the years I have taken part in the nation's favourite TV reality shows including 'I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here' and 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
With so many filming commitments I no longer have the time to deal in antiques although they will always be my passion.

Last Word
The one thing that stands out in my very eventful life is that I have been very fortunate. I found the love of my life, a great woman, who has helped me through everything, we even survived a Tsunami together!
I've had the most amazing opportunities come my way and by grasping them with both hands and an open mind I've enjoyed many fabulous experiences and career moves.
I feel quite blessed and it's not over yet. Believe you me - you ain't seen nothing yet, kid!
